A little reminder…

“Your smile is your logo, your personality is your business card, how you leave others feeling after an experience with you, becomes your trademark” – unknown

I don’t do this often but I have to thank this weekends couple because they helped remind me, during one of the busiest times of the year, why I love what I do.

I met Cali and Mike back in December of 2015 and their love for each other radiated off of them – I honestly remember giving them their first tour.  Sometimes, when you meet a couple, you just click. It sounds silly but, I do believe in client/vendor “love at first tour”. You can just feel it.

We became FB and IG friends quickly after.  They not only supported the Club but every couple before them.  They’ve referred their friends and I’m pretty sure they’re part of the reason I booked another couple at this years’ Open House.

The weekend wasn’t about the linen, the make up or even the dress – which was all gorgeous. It was about Cali & Mike and their love for each other. From the rehearsal dinner on Friday to the wedding ceremony and reception on Saturday, the Club was literally filled with laughter, joy and unconditional love…and you know what? The long hours, the aching back and the sores on my feet were worth every second of it.

From the entire team here at CNGCC, we want to thank you not only for letting us be a part of your day but reminding us why we do what we do. We wish you a lifetime of happiness, prosperity and togetherness.

Congratulations Mr. & Mrs. Ryan! 💕

Holiday Weddings – do it right.

Long weekends are a great time to say “I do”, but before you do, read these tips from OffBeatBride.com to make sure you plan the best holiday wedding and do it, right!  (photos shown were taken at CNGCC)

8 Tips for Scheduling a Wedding Around a Holiday
(Full Article below of find it at – http://offbeatbride.com/scheduling-a-wedding-around-a-holiday/)

“Planning your Halloween wedding, Christmas wedding, New Year’s Eve wedding, Arbor Day wedding? That last one probably isn’t such a big deal, but the other biggies certainly can be. You’re likely running into pre-made days off for more wedding frolic with your pals, but might also run into folks already on their own vacations.

Here are some tips that we gathered for scheduling a wedding around a holiday to avoid extra costs, extra guilt, and gain extra fun.

Give as much notice as possible – Try to send your save-the-date as soon as you can to give guests time to book flights in a potentially busier and more expensive travel season. You’ll also want to make sure you secure guests’ time before they book their vacations and time off from work.

Accept that you may lose a few guests – More of your guests are likely to decline the invitation than at a non-holiday timed wedding. Fixed plans, company events, and family obligations are hard to avoid. Giving a lot of time to plan and not being too sensitive to declines should soften the blow.

You may gain some out-of-townersHolidays are often easier to extend time off, so you may offset the low RSVP rate with some extra out-of-towners. Feel free to peruse some of our wedding weekend posts to prepare to host non-local guests.

Prepare for more +1 requests-Guests will probably want to spend their holiday time with family, kids, and partners, so you may see a spike in requests for a plus-one. No matter which way you’re going (letting them or not), just be sure to have your answer ready to avoid the dramaz.

Offer something festive at the reception – Take advantage of the spirit of the season, whether it’s spooky at Halloween or peace on Earth around the winter holidays. Think cranberry signature cocktails for Christmas, a horror movie theme for Halloween… you get the idea. If you’re taking guests from their usual festivities, try to make sure they don’t miss out on the seasonal fun. You don’t have to go all-out with a seasonal theme, but a few touches can make all the difference for holiday-lovers.

Take advantage of seasonal food and foliage-Any time you can go seasonal for food and flowers will save you some cash. You can choose some festive, seasonal options and nobody will be the wiser that you did it for budget reasons.

Allow for higher costs from vendors-The flip-side to the budget issue is that holidays can often be a higher cost time for vendors, especially venues. Either allow for it in your budget or consider cost-saving options like morning/brunch weddings or cheaper days like Fridays or Sundays.

For a New Year’s Eve party, start it later than usual-This tip is holiday-specific. If you’re planning a New Year’s Eve party, don’t forget to start it a wee bit later since you’ll likely be partying well after midnight.”

True Love, Rain or Shine

So after a very busy day at a Bridal Expo yesterday, I can’t lie, I am excited it is raining today – I don’t feel as guilty having a quiet day off veggin’ out and doing a whole lot of nothing (I should probably do some laundry but we shall see what happens 😜).

Rainy days are usually not what couples hope for on their wedding day but it’s something that shouldn’t be a huge concern. I know, I know, easier said than done!  But, I do suggest at least trying to be positive about it because it’s something we can’t control. Couples and the bridal parties don’t realize how much their reactions to things like the weather, will affect the entire day and night. Yes, we will need  to change and adjusted a few thing but we have to remember the real reason why we’re there, for love. If you’re not worried, others won’t worry. JUse like we will at the venue, your guests will adjust too. They’ll wear rain jackets and bring umbrellas and when they arrive they’re going to enter the foyer, take a look around and be honored to be there on your special day.

One wedding that comes to mind is the Chapman-Chamberlin Wedding we hosted this past fall. It was raining that day but I don’t think about the rain, I think and remember how calm the day was and being in my position, that’s not somethig  I say all the time. Lara and Doug, they embraced the rain, they had backup ready and I really admired their positive attitudes. There was nothing that was going to dampen their day. Rain or shine, these love birds were getting married and that they did. Lara and Doug not only changed the initial plans they had to get married outside but they did it with a smile on their face and that smile passed along to the family and friends who surrounded them that day. Check out the wonderful photos taken by Jon W. Miller Photography of their special, rainy, loving day.

Couples’ Choice Award!

YAY!! Great news today, for the second year in a row we have been chosen for WeddingWires Couples Choice Award!! This award means we are among the top 5% of wedding professionals on WeddingWire, that’s huge!  Our couples are THE reason we are given this award so for us, this is our FAVORITE award. Thank you, thank you ALL!

Our country club has been around for many years, it actually started of as a dairy barn but two years ago we went under a multi-million dollar renovation! So needless to say this property has had some major upgrades, especially in the ballroom, which is gorgeous. The Braddock Ballroom has an adjacent patio, a panoramic view of the golf course and lake with an unbeatable sunset. With all the renovations (which I was here for), it still has that country, cozy home feeling with a modern, chic twist. It looks like all the hard work paid off and for the second year in a row, we are WINNERS :)!

New year, New Babies!

image

Yay! More great news from another CNGCC Couple!! We couldn’t be happier for Stephen & Kelse’s Katchmark are expecting a baby in June!!

This picture sums up these high school sweethearts. Every time we had a planning meeting with this couple, there wasn’t a dull moment, we laughed the entire time. But what I noticed more than anything was that they knew each other so well, they helped make decisions together and most importantly you could see how strong their love is for each other.

From the Chantilly Fam, CONGRATS!

Happy New Year!

Today, is the first blank page of a 365 page book. Write a GOOD one.

Hopefully your 2017 book will top your 2016 one, however, I know for some, that may be hard to do 😄🎊

To all of our 2016 Couples, Clients, Members, Family and Friends who hosted an event with us, thank you! You made our year amazing and we hope we have a chance to work with you all again in 2017 or in the future.

Cheers, The Chantilly National Team

Keep the good news coming!!

We are so excited to hear that one of our CNGCC Couples are expecting their first child in July 2017!

I (Aleks) remember their wedding day well…it was a gorgeous day,  I was getting things in place, checking details one last time when all of a sudden, I got a phone call saying, my little sister was having her baby almost 3 weeks early and she was on her way to the hospital.

So I knew I needed to go and I have an amazing team that has my back for things like this but I was nervous to spring this on a family literally hours before things were going to get kicked off. Would they be mad? Would I stress them out? Well, I should have known better. With the Brodie-Villanueva families, FAMILY comes first. So being the cool, calm, collected, loving family they are, once I told them the situation, they were then giving me hugs, congratulating me and trying to help me get out of there as I was finishing putting place cards out, haha!

What a day. Cara and Luis were married and a new life was brought into the world. And now, they will be bringing their own baby into this world!

From my personal family and my work family at Chantilly National, we all want to say, CONGRATULATIONS! We can’t wait to see photos  of the little one :).
